Who we are

In collaboration with the Goel Foundation, we develop this project.

The Mefi Group has been providing a high-quality leisure space for adults with intellectual disabilities for almost 25 years. We always say that we are a group of friends, without differences, with an inclusive vocation, and we offer a space for meeting, learning, and support for families. We are clear that we all have abilities, and Mefi is an opportunity to share them and demonstrate that we live in a diverse city.

What do we do?

• Inclusive leisure spaces. Every Wednesday throughout the year and on weekends, a group of friends gets together to have a good time.
• Learning. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we offer adult classes in literacy, mathematics, and digital literacy.
• Respite services. 4 weekends a year, we organize weekend outings to provide a break for families and caregivers.
• Family support. Support, companionship, and mutual assistance.
• Training. We provide training opportunities on disability care for volunteers and organizations.

Our history

We were born in 1996 in Barcelona with a small group that met once a month in the Poble Nou neighborhood.
For over 25 years, we have grown in numbers and in activities and services, aiming to address the needs identified and expressed by users and families. In the beginning, we were called Mefi-Boset, and in 2020, we changed our name to the Mefi Group.
