Projecte Daphnia: caring for green Terrassa is an initiative from the Youth Ministry of Església UNIDA de Terrassa to encourage environmental education and invite the community to care for creation.

Daphnia is a small aquatic crustacean that plays a key role in ecosystem balance and is highly sensitive to pollution. It reminds us that small, steady and community-based actions can create real environmental impact.

Why does it exist?

The project was born to promote a culture of responsibility, hope and witness: a way of living faith that also cares for the planet, the neighborhood and people.

What do we want to do?

  • Promote environmental education activities for all ages.
  • Reduce single-use plastics and packaging in community activities.
  • Practice habits of reducing, reusing and recycling.
  • Organize community actions such as green-space cleanups, workshops and practical activities.
  • Introduce responsible purchasing and sustainable consumption criteria.

A cross-ministry initiative

Daphnia is part of the Youth Ministry, building on the experience of actions such as Let's Clean Up Europe, and is developed in coordination with Social Action and Community to involve children, young people, families and the whole church.

The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

Psalm 24:1
