Basic beliefs

The fundamental beliefs of UNIDA are our theological positions on key aspects of the Christian faith. Our biblical theology is centered on Christ and His message, and is based directly on the Scriptures, both from the Old and New Testaments.

As evangelical Christians, we affirm the revealed truth of one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - as presented in the Scriptures. Confessing the historical faith of the Gospel, our beliefs describe the doctrines we consider essential for a full understanding of the Christian faith.

Thus, we affirm the sovereignty and grace of God in creation, providence, revelation, redemption, and final judgment, and acknowledge the full credibility and supreme authority of Holy Scripture in all matters affecting faith and conduct.

We recognize the reality of universal sin and the guilt it entails, and affirm that only by the grace of God, through faith in Christ crucified and risen, can the sinner be justified.

We also affirm the work of the Holy Spirit in enlightening, regenerating, indwelling the believer, and sanctifying, as well as the priesthood of all believers in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Finally, we affirm our hope in the visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the consummation of the Kingdom of God. Through the proclamation of the Gospel and the service of love in society, we aspire to live in faithfulness to our beliefs, following the commandment of our Lord.
